Our floating shelves are made with a concealed internal mounting bracket that can be screwed into a wall stud or other sturdy material. There are 8 different widths to choose from. The 18 in. ?36 in. wide units are rated to hold up to 60 pounds, while the 42 in. ?72 in. wide units are rated to hold up to 120 pounds. Zinc is quickly becoming one of the most popular materials used in custom homes. Zinc is a reactive material with a living finish that will acquire a patina and unique pattern of use over time. We can speed up this aging process by hand-applying a patina that also slightly darkens the zinc.
