DESCRIPTION: This mantel is solid old growth Cedar. It is not hollow or particle board junk. It is a very unique piece. The photos don’t do it justice. When mounted properly it will hold 25# / ft. It is one of a kind. The one you see is the one you will receive. Please keep in mind this piece is made from reclaimed wood, and is well over 100 years old. Taken out of a barn built in the late 1800’s. We try to remove all the splinters and loose wood before sanding. Sometimes we cut through nails and leave them. There are cracks, knots, worm holes, highs and lows in the wood. This piece is for the most part the way we found it when we took the barn down. It is a piece of history preserved. Hand crafted, quality that will last.
