Shedding of loose fibers is normal with new rugs. Shedding will diminish with regular vacuuming, typically within three to six months. Handmade rugs have a consistency and a shine which may affect the rugs color. The colors of a rug will appear either several shades lighter or darker depending on where the viewer is standing in relation to the rug.
